Common Scams to Avoid
At Fresno Yosemite International, unlicensed curbside hustlers quote flat airport fares that crush the meter price. Ignore them. Head straight to the official taxi queue outside baggage claim. Drivers there must use the meter and flash city-issued permits. You save cash. You stay legal.
Rental car shuttle drivers have been caught nudging travelers toward off-airport lots. Hidden add-on fees for insurance or airport recovery charges surface later, never shown in online quotes. Stay inside the terminal. Use the on-site counters. Pre-book only with a major brand that lists Fresno Yosemite International as the pickup location. No surprises.
Some private parking shuttles advertise FAT parking online yet stash their lots 10 to 15 minutes away near Highway 99. On return, they hit you with surprise fuel surcharges. Book only lots that clearly state they are on airport property. Or use the city-run economy lot with rates posted at the entrance. Simple.
